As an avid gardener, I consider garden kneelers to be just as important as a good pair of gloves. Having a kneeler allows me to comfortably spend hours outside, even with my easily irritated back. If you have arthritis, joint pain, or find it difficult to sit or kneel on the ground for long periods of time, one of these products could make a world of difference.

Kneelers come in several forms, including cushions, stools, and knee pads. The kind you choose should be driven by personal preference. I love cushions because they allow me to sit or kneel and keep my clothes from getting dirty. One benefit to knee pads is that you don’t have to move them around the garden; they travel with you. And a stool kneeler is particularly useful for those who have trouble getting up off the ground.

To help make this growing season as comfortable as possible for you, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Amazon garden kneelers. Don’t let anything stand in the way of making your garden beautiful (and bountiful) this year.

Amazon Garden Kneelers

Gorilla Grip Extra-Thick Kneeling Pad

Gorilla Grip Extra Thick Kneeling Pad

Amazon

Orig. $34 $20 at Amazon

The Gorilla Grip Kneeling Pad is made with high-density foam that’s 1.5 inches thick to provide additional comfort and shock absorption. The cushion won’t retain dirt or water and the textured surface grips the ground to prevent it from slipping around on wet grass. The pad’s thickness increases its durability, so you should be able to use it for multiple growing seasons, and it comes in a total of 10 colors.

Garden Guru Cushioned Knee Pads

Amazon

Orig. $17 $16 at Amazon

These surprisingly stylish and ergonomic knee pads have a thick foam padding that cradles your knees. They’re longer than typical knee pads, extending down the shin for extra coverage/protection, and the adjustable straps help keep them in place. As a bonus, Garden Guru donates 1% of its sales to environmental causes.

WorkPro Knee Pads

WORKPRO Garden Knee Pads

Amazon

Orig. $17 $15 at Amazon

WorkPro’s knee pads are slim but sturdy and incredibly durable thanks in part to the heavy-duty nylon thread that runs throughout to prevent rips and tears. This product has an especially thoughtful design element: The straps connect with plastic hooks instead of velcro, which can easily get clogged with dirt when gardening. The easy-release slip clip allows you to effortlessly take the knee pads on and off while you’re working.

Toua Extra-Thick Kneeling Pad

Kneeling Pad Thick Extra Large High Density Foam Comfort

Amazon

Orig. $30 $15 at Amazon

The Toua pad is one of the firmest options on this list, providing excellent support so that you don’t feel even a hint of a rock through it. The sturdy and thick design also prevents it from compressing over time and losing its shape. The pad is made of a waterproof material, so it’s easy to clean, and features a cut-out handle for carrying.

Fiskars Knee Pads

Fiskars Lightweight & Durable Knee Pads

Amazon

These knee pads are completely encased in a moisture-proof outer shell, which is a particularly helpful feature when you’re gardening on dewy grass or after a rainstorm. The tough exterior protects your knees from rocks and rough terrain, while the soft, padded interior keeps you comfortable. Affordable and no-fuss, these pads are perfect for the average gardener who’s looking for something simple to throw on.

Kneejoys Kneeling Pad

Orig. $45 $37 at Amazon

Unlike other options on this list, Kneejoys’ pad is plush rather than firm. It’s made with a dual-layer of pillowy memory foam and the protective neoprene cover is water- and wear-resistant. Plus, dirt doesn’t stick to the leather bottom, which is also non-slip. The cushion folds in half for easy storage and has handles.

HappyPicnic Kneeler Pad

HappyPicnic Large Knee Mat

Amazon

This chic kneeler features a leather-accented carrying handle and comes in four trendy colors—olive green, gray, light pink, and pastel blue. Its cover is made of a durable woven polyester fabric that’s removable so it can be washed if it gets muddy. Two inches of foam provide a comfortable seat or knee rest while weeding and planting.

NoCry Professional Gel Knee Pads

NoCry Professional Gel Knee Pads

Amazon

Orig. $33 $28 at Amazon

NoCry’s knee pads have heavy-duty plastic caps affixed to the front for added protection, making them an ideal fit if you work frequently on rocky soil or concrete. The adjustable straps allow for a tight yet comfortable fit so they don’t slip, and the gel cushion provides a barrier between your knee and the outer shell.

Ohuhu 2-in-1 Kneeler and Seat

Ohuhu Garden Kneeler

Amazon

Gardening certainly isn’t the most relaxed hobby, but the Ohuhu foldable seat aims to make it easier on your body. It can be converted from a ground kneeler into a bench, allowing you to comfortably work at different heights. When used as a kneeler, the solid steel frame—which supports up to 330 pounds—aids you in pulling yourself up from the ground. The product also comes with two detachable tool pouches that are meant to be hung on the sides of the seat for easy access. When you’re done, the bench can be folded and stored flat.
